When a loss occurs while you are on deployment, the distance can feel insurmountable. At Ikaroa Falls, we believe every hand that has cared for a pet deserves the chance to offer a final stroke of the fur. Our Deployment Program is designed to pause the clock, keeping your pet in our professional cold storage facilities until your feet are back on San Diego soil.
How The Deployment Program & Loss of A Pet Works
Immediate Care: Upon notification from a spouse, friend, or veterinarian, we prioritize the dignified transport of your pet to our facility.
Professional Cold Storage: Your pet is placed in a temperature-controlled, monitored environment designed to preserve their physical state as gently as possible.
The Reunion: Upon your return, we prepare The Oasis for a private viewing, allowing you the time and space to say goodbye in person before the aquamation process begins.
A Note on Preservation
Our goal is to facilitate a meaningful reunion, and we utilize the highest standards of professional cold storage to maintain your pet’s condition. However, nature follows its own course. Depending on the length of your deployment and the condition in which your pet enters our care, physical preservation may change over time. Please be assured that we will maintain the strictest level of transparency with your family or designated point of contact, and we will do everything within our professional power to ensure your pet is presented with the utmost dignity upon your return.
If you are a spouse, friend, or service member facing a loss during deployment, please reach out immediately. We will handle the logistics and provide a sanctuary for your pet until the homecoming.
